The word “Himachal” means snow covered and “Pradesh” means province.
Himachal Pradesh thus means a “Snow Covered Province” in English.
Which is quite close to the truth. The State or the Province lies atop the mighty Himalayan Mountains – most of which is permanently covered with snow.
But beneath these majestic Mountains also lie the cause of these tall Mountains – An Active Geological Plate Tectonic boundary, which continues to see action even in this day
