Otaru has many more astounding vistas to showcase the inquisitive traveler. By now, I believe that you must have been awed sufficiently by Otaru and must be planning a visit to this hidden gem of Japan. Let’s see a few more great sights from Otaru.

Otaru has many more attractions to offer, including museums, glass factories and distilleries. It is recommended that one spends atleast 2-3 days in Otaru to cover all the attractions of Otaru.

I hope that this underrated gem of Japan has intrigued you and has made you consider paying a visit to this gem of a place. Otaru was an entrancing experience for me for sure.

Traveling is not just about clicking a few selfies in front of the biggies – it is the experience which counts the most. Some of those sought after experiences may be discovering or traveling to a relatively unknown place offering a diverse set of things to see, do and learn. Traveling should be sustainable and help the local economy as much as possible. That’s one big reason behind my travels and the purpose behind my blog.

  1. I kind of just associated Hokkaido with skiing I didn’t realise Otaru would be sk diverse witg mountains and beaches and both modern Japan and old European architecute… so rich and informative, thanks for all these really enriching updates on the less trodden places!

    1. Well, Hokkaido is all that considering the harsh cold weather it faces.. However Hokkaido is also highly diverse (the most diverse in Japan in my opinion with regards to food and geographies).. 🙂
